Decathlon, the world's largest sports retailer, is on a mission to democratise sports. Ability Signs is a design programme that aims to change the International Symbol of Access forever. The initiative started in Decathlon parking lots and spread to its Canadian stores, before going global. Since the icons are available for everyone to use, professional sports teams opted in, as well as competitor brands. The signage system was even used across Paris to create more than 20 new accessible parking spaces.
